Who determines your next presidential candidates?

Well, CNN and the rest of the media (that have the power to decide who you will or won't see on the boob tube or read about in print) that's who.

After last night's democratic presidential debate, "Senator Chris Dodd criticized CNN for giving far more time to Senators Obama and Clinton. Obama spoke for 16 minutes. Dodd, Kucinich, Gravel and Senator Joe Biden were each given less than nine minutes."*

So apparently, while you're trying to decide who you'd prefer to represent the left wing of the republican party in the '08 presidential election, CNN already has, giving Obama and Clinton twice as much exposure.

Unless one's an Obama or Clinton lover, this should be very upsetting to those who might support one of the lesser, "unknown" candidates like a Kucinich or a Gravel. (WTF is a Gravel?)

Oh well, Dada just can't wait for the Peace and Freedom Party's debates on CNN.

Dada?
Is this YOUR blog....

--Oh well, Dada just can't wait for the Peace and Freedom Party's debates on CNN.--

I have a Google alert...someone types "Peace and Freedom Party" and I'm likely see it...must be your first time..congratulations... :)

"...Fuck you, I'm voting Kucinich and that's that."

Only YOU could make me change my mind...but I do not see that happening...he calls himself DEMOCRAT *gAk* ...on the other hand..I know somewhat more about him because of the "media", since NO ONE in the media writes about Stewart Alexander except Stewart Alexander (& his wife)....

If this is you...I'm looking forward to exploring this place ...

Ha! You nailed that one, my man. Same bullshit, different animal mascot.

I found these early debates broadcast only on cable to be ironic. The assumption is "for the people" who can afford cable, that everyone has cable or Satellite dishes? But the word "debate" is used so loosely-- I can't remember when I last heard a real, ACTUAL debate.... now there are so many candidates, they get less than 2 minutes to answer a question-- all they can say is "I think" and their time is over. We don't have debates, we have sound bite forums. I also have to wonder if the Reich wing is putting out lame candndates as a strategy... does the repug party really want to have to clean up George's mess?

alice: Sorry, I guess I'm not the Dada you know, but I sure like your choice for democratic prez nominee. (Even if he hasn't a chance in hell.)

pt: Yeh, but why does their mascot get three stars and the ass only one?

got democracy? - good point. If you don't have cable to watch the CNN debates, you should probably be removed from Rove's voting rolls.

az: yeh, I don't watch the debates. The media will decide who should be the next president and then we can go confirm it.
