Ooh, I'm so confused!!

What a brilliant McCain stratagem!

Suddenly the U.S.'s race for president, a race that's been going on for two or three years now is finally getting interesting - and confusing. That's because John McCain has announced he, McCain, is the candidate of change!

Now how am I suppose to decide who in the fuck to vote for?

American politics continue to devolve to their basest level, i.e., the level of the electorate. “Oink, oink,” - “Hee-haw, hee-haw!” (Sorry, no offense intended towards pigs and asses (nor dogs, slugs, and slime molds -- all obviously more highly evolved than Man.)

Actually, I’m thinking a McCain/Palin presidency (and I’m pretty sure McCain won’t complete his first term - skin cancers - he spent way too much time lying around in the sun in the late 60's, early 70’s) will probably bring America to the place it needs to be quicker than an Obama presidency, i.e., it will expedite the end of Empire, the end of the nation and allow us to move on towards whatever America’s destined to become — Third World Nation, a Chinese satellite, or a grand pack of post apocalyptic neo-Neolithic Cro-magnon mutants wondering at our uncontrollable urge to try to chip perfectly round wheels from stone.

With McCain's announcement he is the real candidate of change, the election is suddenly cast in a totally different state. A state of confusion, making the decision who to vote for almost impossible.

Suddenly the candidate's VP choices really do matter. Enter Palin! And who better and more likely to get us where we need to go as a nation than Palin as probable 45th (and last) president of the nation?

So onward Americans! We will have the leadership and ultimately the nation we deserve.

Standing up, applauding.

Thank you, and thanks for stopping by, chani.

Surely we cannot conclude from that wonderful applause you're as pessimistic for man's future as I?

Dada, I have to disagree with you on this one simply because I followed a similar theory in 1967 when Reagan was running for Governor of CA. I voted for Reagan thinking it would show Bozo the clown for what he was worth and that would end his career and bring "sanity" to CA politics. Wrong! He not only won big but then history tells the rest of the story. I'm not convinced Obama is the best candidate but given the choice between the two "change" candidates I won't be inclined to vote for McCain no matter what even if it does mean bringing the American people to their senses, if even possible, in the short term with a Palin in the WH. Sorry about that friend.

I have to admit, the thought of "a grand pack of post apocalyptic neo-Neolithic Cro-magnon mutants wondering at our uncontrollable urge to try to chip perfectly round wheels from stone" really appeals to me. I'm ready to chip.

No, no -- OMG...is that what this blog says? No, no! I would never, ever vote for McCain -- my statement is simply one of amazement at the sophistication of politically discerning Americans, i.e., they aren't. They're a bunch of dimwits - at best - willing to throw themselves at the feet of Palin and her running mate (who is all over the political spectrum, presently sounding more like a democrat than Obama with all the changes he's going to now make if elected).

Meanwhile -- as one local observer said -- everyone thought Palin, at the least, did a decent to most excellent job of it the other night, despite never mentioning where she stood on issues one would think most important to Americans (but obviously I'm way, way wrong on that point). But from her speech, we now know:

- McCain was a POW.
- small town mayors have responsibilities (she didn't expound)
- Alaska has a huge budget surplus because of its oil (nah, nah, na, nah, nah -most of the lower 48 are running red ink.)
- she once tried to sell a plane on E-bay.
- and her hubby's a champion snowmobile racer (always an important qualification for VP).

Thanks for this list, JH, cause I couldn't watch that shit.

Nay, I don't think we're in disagreement about McCain, eprof. I was simply saying I, you, and others who regularly visit Dada's don't need to elect McCain. The American dimwits will do it for us and we'll have the leadership, sadly, we deserve.

PT - And -- if that happens -- I am preparing to join PT Cruiser with my chisel for our new lives we'll so richly deserve in the post-apocalyptic world if we STILL haven't learned anything from the past 28 years. Perhaps the sooner we blow ourselves off the planet, the better the chances for some other, more qualified species like butterflies or geckos to take their shot at dominating the Earth. (They couldn't do any worse!)

Dada, ok, I better understand what you were getting at now. I misread your intentions and the solution. My bad!

I was pretty sure about which way I would vote , until that Palin gal stepped up to the podium. Wow!
I mean Biden only has 35 years of experience in the U.S. Senate- all of them on the Senate Foreign Affairs Committee. What a yutz!

I mean has HE ever run a remote village town with a population of 6000?
Did HE make Hockey Mom pitbull lipstick jokes?
Biden has only does this job since Palin was 9 years old-- he's married to a College teacher-- but Palin has the CHAMPION snowmobile racer husband.

Biden was never in a beauty Queen contest either.

The chioce has never been more clear.

So really we have all the facts we need to move ahead to voting day.

Who needs debates?
Vetting Schmetting!
Experience is all relative.....

Fran: OK, I suppose this is what I get for leaving sarcastic comments on your blog, heh?

But thanks for yours, written in the true (vein, vain, vane - correct English just purses thru my vanes) of this particular blog entry.

God, if we could now only move the election up to this coming Tuesday as you suggest.

Your post invites me to promote my upcoming novel which will be called "Make Way for Butterflies." It is destined to be a best-seller. That is, if I can get it off the presses before the demise of humanity so there is someone around to purchase it.

Thank you for your support.
