(As spoken by the Captain of Road Prison 36 in the movie Cool Hand Luke.)I don't know how many thousands of Americans Cool Hand Luke inspired with his defiance of authority, but it came along in the middle of the Vietnam War. While Luke was slight of stature in the movie, he was a giant among bigger men surrounding him. It was a film about challenging those in control at every possible opportunity.
Maybe it should be re-released here in this New American Century.

Here's another quote from Newman that Mrs. Dada really loved. When asked by a reporter if he'd ever been tempted to stray outside his marriage (to Joanne Woodward of 50 years), Newman replied, "I have steak at home. Why would I want to go out for hamburger?"
