Quote of the Day

Today's quote came forwarded to the local El Paso peace group by one of its members:

Sad Commentary

This is a year when both Groundhog Day and the State of the Union Address occur in the same week.

And, as David Brownstein once pointed out, "This is an ironic juxtaposition of events, one involves a meaningless ritual in which we look to a creature of little intelligence for prognostication, while the other involves a groundhog.

I successfully avoided the SOTU! Being on vaca does have its advantages. But then I made the mistake of reading the local paper during the "free" breakfast next morn. Quickly flipping past the front page until I felt I was in a bush-free safe zone, the first article my eyes landed on were some local idiot claiming the speech just proved why he'd be proud to have B-C for ANOTHER 8-yrs. OMG! I almost threw up my oatmeal w/raisins & honey. So much for free breakfasts.

I am sorry I missed the groundhog, though. Good quote from your local peace group!
