Today's Review

Knowing we must have a provocation before we can bomb the shit out of Iran, I thought it might be a good idea to review the term "False Flag." So should another attack occur on American soil like 9/11, before we all run out on the steps of the nation's capitol vicariously arm-in-arm with our senators and representatives, say the pledge of allegiance to the flag then further disgrace it by blowing the hell out of Iran that had nothing to do with the attack, I thought it might be wise to review false flags.

****************************

"False flag
operations are covert operations conducted by governments, corporations, or other organizations, which are designed to appear as if they are being carried out by other entities. False flag operations...have been used in peace-time; for example, during Italy's strategy of tension (strategia della tensione)...to control and manipulate public opinion using fear, propaganda, disinformation, psychological warfare, agents provocateurs, as well as well as false flag terrorist actions (including bombings).

"According to historian Daniele Ganser, "It is a tactic which consists in committing bombings and attributing them to others. By the term 'tension' one refers to emotional tension, to what creates a sentiment of fear."

Probably the most famous of these false flag operations was the burning of the Reichstag making it possible for Hitler to come to power in order to stop "anti-German" elements from gaining power through violence. And, as they say, the rest is history!

The right wingers have begun trying to equate Ahmadinejad with 9/11 after Ahmadinejad's recent attempt to visit ground zero.

The charges are that Ahmadinejad gave safe passage through Iran for some of the 9/11 hijackers. They mix this with a good measure of "Ahmadinejad supplies IED's to the insurgency!".

I suppose the point is to help drum up badly needed support for bombing Iran.

There are several problems with their argument. The simplest being, it's been reported today that Blackwater has been selling weapons illegally to the insurgents in Iraq. So who do we bomb because of that? America? If we bomb Iran for providing weapons to the insurgents then who do we bomb when the U.S. supplies weapons to the insurgents?

So ... if you run a false flag up the flag pole, who salutes? My guess: apocalyptic fundamentalist christain (spelling intentional) right-wing nutzos ... like Blackwater owner & founder Erik Prince whose mission is to make big bucks spreading the theocon philosophy of death ... bucks we'll ALL be contributing "unto the seventh generation". ~~ D.K.
