Keith Olbermann blogs: "We have not forgotten, Mr. President. You have. May this country forgive you."
If you didn't catch Keith Olbermann's "Countdown" show last night, I can only say Olbermann becomes more of a force with each passing week. His total lambasting of president Bush on the final segment of his show, "This Hole in the Ground" was extremely angry and well delivered, making it a must see.
It left me pondering if some of the media are beginning to turn, or is Olbermann putting his neck on the chopping block?

Oh, I absolutely LOVED Keith's special comment last night ... so much, I had to replay it twice!
I sure hope his neck is NOT on the chopping block, meaning I hope his ratings are high enough he can't be frigged with. I think he's been getting good feed back on his "special comments" since he now seems to be do doing them more often. I know I'm emailing him.
And just like elec-2004 when the winds of change were in the air (not yet hurricane force), now Hardballs Matthews has begun to do a little cross-step dance courting dems on his show. Even zombie Novak was on cspan recently giving his "bleak" scenario on why the repubs will lose the house (bleak for him). hey, i take my encouragement where i find it. If it's truly ours to lose, then we have to really want it. D.K.
sorry to say - but i think his neck is on the chopping block
as when i look around, even bill maher's show is very very tame....lots of fluff but none of the hard hitting stuff he's had in the past...
Buck up, guys...the Ober's channeling Howard Beale and Ed Murrow, and delivering with the eloquence of Jack Kennedy...
It is so refreshing that it is coming from someone besides a comedian for a change. He is obviously as mad as hell, and he's not going to take it anymore. I don't see Keith getting shot for bad ratings.
hah, so that's it, mel! I've been wondering who courageous keith's reminding me of. I mean, he already signs off like Murrow. But if he starts delivering his "special comments" in a raincoat with wet hair plastered to his head, eyes bulging & mouth frothing, we'll know Beale for sure. So, who would be Ned Beatty to give him the "corporation" speech? cheney? D.K.
I'm seeing Rove in that role instead of Cheney; it's a toss up, though.
What a hell of a delivery by Beatty, though! I'm glad Randi Rhodes is recommending people go back and watch that movie again.
I wish I had cable...I'd be going to the window every night after Keith's sign-off to yell "I'm mad as hell..."
I've got good news for you. Olbermann's commentary is becoming so popular, they're advertising it during Hardball. I don't usually watch Hardball, but the other day they were advertising that George Clooney would be on so I sat through the whole damn irritating show and listened to Nora O'Donnell's annoying laughter and Chris Matthews' nonesense, only to hear at the end of the show that Clooney had been "delayed" and he'd be on another time. I thought he might be on the following day so I turned in again, except this time I was smarter. I watched and listened to CNN on the big picture and I had Hardball in the little picture with no sound so I could quickly switch over if Clooney appeared. He didn't, but I saw a big ad for Countdown that featured Olbermann's commentary.
I don't think they'd be advertising his comments unless they were very popular - and so maybe they'll let him continue doing them.
I wonder if Clooney deliberately blew Chris Matthews off. He hasn't appeared on the show yet.
I love Clooney for "Good Night and Good Luck" and for all the work he's doing to bring attention to the genocide in Darfur, but I'd prefer to see him on Countdown.
Watching Matthews and O'Donnell makes me feel nauseaus. Oh wait... maybe it was that spinach I ate.
