Feeling safer every day!

I feel so reassured for my safety after hearing a story on NPR's "All Things Considered" this evening.

Since 9/11, I've gone to sleep night every night fearing for my security. Wondering if I'll awake to see another day.

Now I've learned all that angst and resulting grey hairs were for naught. That's because, every year when I send in my check to the IRS in April, a portion of that's been funding the FBI's surveillance of subversive groups that threaten my safety.

I can't tell you how I'm looking forward to bedding down tonight knowing I'll not die at the hands of some terrorist activist act by those anti-American People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, Greenpeace or the Catholic Worker's Group.

Take that, you subversive bastards!
