Newsworld International, 1994 - 2005, R.I.P.

Effective August 1, 2005, Newsworld International went out of existence. For the past several years, NWI, has been an excellent source of things happening around the world with a broader perspective than that available from U.S. news sources.

Canadian Broadcasting's efforts which brought news into an estimated 20 million American homes will be sorely missed.

In its place is the new Al Gore led channel, "Current", which will focus on events that appeal to 18-34 year olds. Falling slightly outside Gore's parameters, I must now seek a new source for news.

So in the meantime, if you detect a mushier, mellower, more conservative tone to future posts here, please try to understand. It'll be the result of watching a mushier, mellower, more conservative source of news like CBS, ABC, NBC and CNN.

Maybe that explains why I'm seeing Hillary ("it takes a village to raise a child," it takes a bomb to raze a village) Clinton in a new light this morning.
