"There's a monster on the loose"

"America, where are you now?"
line from Steppenwolf's Monster, 1969

"Our cities have turned into jungles
And corruption is stranglin' the land
The police force is watching the people
And the people just can't understand
We don't know how to mind our own business
'Cause the whole worlds got to be just like us
Now we are fighting a war over there
No matter who's the winner we can't pay the cost
'Cause there's a monster on the loose
It's got our heads into the noose
And it just sits there watchin'"

Love the nostalgia & had to borrow the button widget. What a cool project & a great story. I often think about how in the Vietnam war protests, there was such a total spectrum of the population- from clergy to white & blue collar to those hippies. So many they could not be ignored. I wonder if the revolution to stop the war mongering in the US is if the people refuse to pay taxes. We the people cut the funding.
Just a thought.
I'm still reeling over the kudos the Bush remark the President made. Like we are supposed to effing call Bush a patriot while we cheer that only 50,00o troops remain in Iraq & the 100,000 they pulled out are really just a country over fighting that other war.

Bush is torture.
Bush is a criminal.
But a patriotic supporter of the troops?
No sale.
