Happy anniversary Dada!

According to Jean Arp, co-founder of Dadaism, this month marks the 96th anniversary of artist and poet Tristan Tzara's first time utterance of the word "Dada." It happened in Zurich, Switzerland, in the Cafe Terrasse.

Arp was present in the moment and wearing "a brioche in my left nostril" at the time of this birthing event that would forever officially name the artistic and literary anti-war, anti-bourgeois and anarchistic movement.

Also, as noted by Arp, "I am convinced that this word has no importance and that only imbeciles and Spanish professors can be interested in dates."

Dada would like to note at this time, "I am not now, nor have I ever been, a Spanish professor."

Dada would like to thank M.H. for the Valentine's Day gift, "Dadas on Art," which served as inspiration for today's blog.
