Juarez: 1,900 (Juarez homicides for
the entire year of 2008 = ca. 1,600)
El Paso homicides to date: 10
I realize it's not fair to compare the deaths in Juarez with
its sister city, El Paso, just across the Rio Grande. The pop-
ulation of Juarez is at least twice as great as that of El Paso's.
