Lying Ayes

You can't hide your lyin ayes
And your smile is a thin disguise
I thought by now you'd realize
There ain't no way to hide your lyin' ayes

a rip from the Eagles' "Lying Eyes"

Headline from AP:

Exit Polls: Lee Wins S. Korean Election

"Exit polls showed Lee Myung-bak winning South Korea's presidential election by a landslide Wednesday..."

Isn't it curious we can trust South Korean voter exit polls enough to declare the winner in their presidential election when exit polls in the USA's 2004 Ohio presidential race, which indicated John Kerry had won, proved to be a big lie with the "winners" declaring exit polls are not a valid indication of an election's outcome?

Only in the USA.

Aye Carumba!
Aye Diebold!

Did the Diebold CEO announce that Bush would win Ohio State in that election?

When the maker of the vote counting machines makes a bold "prediction" like that, it's pretty darned reliable.

Remember- It's not how you vote-- it's who counts the votes that matters.

Yes, Fran. I'm forever in awe of how guys like the Diebold CEO manage to be so prescient.

And why shouldn't it be? Who better to guide us through the hazards of the current world than those with such incredible clairvoyance?!

Thanks, enigma, for directing me to Mr. Rogers. Such a nice diversion, but it made sad also, realizing how much I miss our old friend, PT Cruiser.
