"It is not constructive and it almost seems provocative."
White House press secretary Dana Perino's response to Iranian General Mohammad Alavi's revelation Iran has drawn up plans to bomb Israel should the Israelis attack Iran.
Ooh, if only Dana Perino and the White House she represents saw the Pentagon's plans to bomb the shit out of Iran as "not constructive and provocative."
But let's go ahead and swallow this pablum, maybe wash it down with some Kool-Aid. How dare Iran draw up plans to bomb somebody who bombs them first!

One gets a different perspective when looking outward through the crosshairs of a weapon.
In a crude observation, & wording gaffe, I had Wickipedia'ed Ms. Perino~
Dana Marie Perino (born May 9, 1972) is the current White House Press Secretary for President George W. Bush, assuming the position on September 14, 2007.
Perhaps the words *assuming the position* are really accurate- could you imagine being the Bush admin White House press secretary? Taking it in the shorts from both the presidents cast of thugs, and the press (hopefully) snarling dogs seeking truth.
The Bush 2 camp has already gone through
Ari Fleisher
His clone Scott McClellan
Fox anchor Tony Snow (Snow job!)
and now Dana Marie. Good luck honey... you are going to need it when, assuming the position.
A final note as an aside-- Helen Thomas, Warrior Goddess of the WH Press Corps is quoted in her book "The Raw Story":
"My criticism of the press secretaries in the Bush-2 administration is that they are robots parroting the party line, on message word for word. They are afraid to deviate even when they are spouting nonsense. They stay on one page, no matter what the question.
Pleasing their president too often means more to them than their questionable responsibility to the American people; to democracy itself. They define it as loyalty to the boss, but they owe a higher loyalty to the country, in my opinion. Dissembling and avoiding the truth does not engender trust or respect. It harms the nation."

Nice quote by a lovely lady, Helen Thomas. Thanks for that, gd!
By the way, loved your take on Perino's assuming the position. I hadn't thought of it like that.
I'm sure all future press briefings will be viewed differently from here!
