Monday morning, new week, same tiresome shit. Always so many outrages--a new set daily--so I thought I'd just 'free-form' it today. If you drop by here occasionally, take a break and stop reading here. What follows is nothing more my usual carthartic attempt to maintain some grip on reality, i.e., it's just another rant as therapy.
The first thing I want to mention is a nice idea for a freeway sign as suggested by a Lew Scannon in a comment over on PT Cruiser's blog. Quite simply it reads, "Impeach Bush & Cheney, because lynchings are illegal."

That's too bad. About the lynchings, I mean. Because Bush & cheney do not work within the framework of the laws of the United States. While I'm not advocating such extreme violence, a good old lynching for those who do might be something Bush and cheney could better appreciate, better understand, and most definitely fear, precisely because it is in their area of expertise -- outside the law. (Tar and feathers or a little torture might have been nice, too.)
Of course, while Bush warned us way back in early 2001 at the nation's beginning of the end, "It would be easier if I was a dictator," you can't really fault him for seeing just how much he and Big Dick cheney could get away with. Now, as we now all know, the answer to that is "plenty!" After all, they started off on the right foot, i.e., they weren't even elected and no one seemed to mind much that they took office anyway.
But after 9/11, while our congressmen and women were standing outside on the capitol's steps saying the pledge of allegiance for news cameras, little Bush and Big Dick cheney were inside wetting themselves with drool at the thought of all their new powers. And, oh my, did they ever do a number on the nation.
So here we are almost six years later and despite all the revelations of all that's been allowed to go wrong by the "checkers" and "balancers," impeachment is off the table. But if it's any consolation, just this past week I heard suggested by the 37th congressman that we censure Bush over his Libby sentence commutation! My, how they must be chuckling over that. Incredible.
Is it any wonder Big Dick considers himself outside the executive branch or it's rumored Bush will tell Harriet Miers and Sara Taylor to ignore subpoenas they have been issued to appear before congressional committees later this week regarding the firing of twelve U.S. Attorneys?
No, it appears George Bush has become George "Costanza" Bush. He won't resign, you can't fire him, he ignores the disapproval of his employers and he sure as hell doesn't work (for the good of the nation, anyway).

Rant On! There is so much to rant about- even Cindy Sheehan can't refrain herself-- she's talking about running as an independant against Pelosi.
Sheehan wisely sold her 5 acre Crawford Tx property to a left wing CA radio celeb who promised to keep up the vigil. Shes sick of the Demopublicans, or Republicrats or whatever mixed up political pablum were are being served up these days. either party lacks serious spine. Recently there is a wave of Repugs opposing the war because, there is an election year coming up & their political asses are on the line. Are voters really that gullible??? Nothing BUT Impeachment makes sense to me. So many laws have been broken, I can't even keep track. One would think the Judges who were fired for being on the wrong side of the political specturm, sure have solid grounds for wrongful termination, and the legal know how to file suit. Gonzales' aka "the firerer" should have had his ass booted out long ago.
Seriously.... it is as if the US of A is asleep at the wheel. do you think they are putting something in the water?
love it!! and it is too bad about the lynchings - cuz i have a feeling that we would-a been rid of this problem in our government a loooong time ago!
But Wait! There's more!!! It would seem that today Bush has decided to enact Executive privilege re the firings, saying former aides would not comply with congressional subpoenas for their testimony.
How conveeeeenient! Seems exec power & privilege is declared when the wind blows in certain directions. Thankfully Rep. Conyers is a kind of pitbull when it comes to such matters. He is quoted as saying "Conyers indicated that a battle in federal court is likely."
"Contrary to what the White House may believe, it is the Congress and the courts that will decide whether an invocation of executive privilege is valid, not the White House unilaterally," Conyers said in a statement Monday.
As far as Bush is concerned, he likens himself to the Wizard of Oz-- the man behind the curtain,
blowing smoke & telling congress to go get the witch's broom. "I am the great & powerful decider"
"I answer no questions because I envoke National Security & Executive Privilege."
Waiting for toto to pull open the curtain & bite his leg. Rrrrruuurf!

Scroll down to the Squadron 13 Deployed- Issues arrest warrant for Bush & Cheney.
Dr. Jack Dresser, PhD, Veteran, runs through a list of a few of the high crimes our boys in Washington have committed. Makes Nixon look like a frickin choir boy.
az: Like, OUCH! (I was just reading this morning how China dealt with its ex food and drug chief.)
gd: Thanks for the link. I enjoyed the reading of the list of many of Bush's punishable trangressions against the state and its citizens.
Also watched the video of Newport's refusal to allow the Vets for Peace bus in their May 5th parade. If only time had permitted, they could have moved the discussion over to the Rogue and, after a few Dead Guy Ales, resolved the whole thing to everyone's satisfaction.
