Quote of the Day

We are getting tired of prying your guns out of your cold dead hands.

Here's a news flash for you gun waving "real Americans": It's not about guns. It's about money. Follow the money. The NRA raises hundreds of millions of dollars by convincing you they are fighting for your "rights". Wake up. It's a business. Just like any other business, except with the help of their bought off representatives, they are the only UNREGULATED consumer product in America. What do they sell? FEAR. Fear, fake patriotism, and fake bravado, just like their commander in chief, President Custer. You're being played.
Elayne Boosler

Oh, oh. Looks like it's coming that time again to roll out the debate on our constitutional right.

If 2500 children under the age of 17 were felled by apples instead of guns every year in America, there wouldn't be a congressman or senator left serving who took one penny from the National Apple Association. ~Boosler again

The president helps the terrorists when anyone can have a shoulder rocket launcher that can take a plane out of the sky. And I'm taking my shoes off at the airport? ~more Boosler

Gee, Elayne's supposed to be funny but she sounds a little upset to me. (Sometimes I really love it when this comedienne loses her sense of humor. Click on any "Boosler" to read her entire, excellent column rant.)

Yes, Guns Kill, I agree. I'm afraid that the genie is so far out of the bottle on this one, that all we do is keep fanning the genie's smoketrail back towards the bottle in hopes of containing further damage. To me, this is similar to the medical insurance/big pharma phenom that has taken over our health care to the point that we now speak in terms of mandating med insurance coverage, not offering universal health care.

There was a time, maybe not so long ago even, when we could've headed down another road. Now we're staring at a total upheaval in order to fix the problem. Countries that have strict gun laws (resulting in, surprise!, much less gun death) made that hard decision before their entire country was armed to the teeth with heavy-duty assault weapons. We're really caught here; we know what's right, but can't bring ourselves to do it; so we get bandaid laws, if we get anything.

Thanks for the Boosler links, I read her at Huffington. She's great! I wish she had her own HBO show like Bill Maher & got invited to speak on various "news" programs like he does. ~~ D.K.

I love the Boose! My ex told me once I myself have always been a cross between Bette Midler, Elayne Boosler...and Jeff Foxworthy. A hell of a compliment, I thought.

Elayne's dead-on about this one, and so well put, too. Good on her, and you for posting it.
