The latest child endangerment case.

AP Photo/Charles Dharapak

Immediately after giving her baby over to the president to be kissed, an unidentified mother (blonde, center) turned and joked with fellow worshippers, "Looks like a new Republican recruit and future soldier in Bush's endless global war on terror!" as the oddience chuckled and guffawed with wild approval.

Shortly afterwards, the mother was arrested by Washington, D.C. police and charged with child endangerment.

The 10 week old baby, now in custody of D.C.'s Child Protective Services, will be placed with foster parents until permanent parents with a stable home environment can be found for the infant.

You know, az, what got me to thinking about this--these horrendous pictures of innocent children used as props for another of this punk's photo ops is the following:

A week from Saturday, the semi-annual opening to the public of Trinity Site where the first atomic bomb was detonated will again be on display.

I had the thought it would be an interesting drive and viewing. We'd take the dog. But then I realized by doing so, the dog was having no say in the matter and since it's a potentially hazardous place for Sammy to be, it's not right to involve him w/o his knowing the dangers, let alone having his permission.

I feel the same way about handing your baby over to Bush w/o its permission.

Hilarious. Loved the picture of the "oddience".

To the baby's credit, he/she looks none too happy in the iraqi-baby-killer's arms. And that big floppy bonnet is at least providing some protection from direct bush-lip corruption.

But Dada, please don't take Sammy anywhere there may be remnant nuke-test radioactive dust! Animals are at much higher risk in these areas as they: 1) breathe air closer to the possibly contaminated soil, 2) are more likely to shove their noses into the soil & inhale deeply, and 3) have shorter life spans that allow a rapid build-up of deadly toxins to accumulate. I suspect there is a reason the Trinity site is only open semi-annually that involves the still active ground-zero nuke dust (e.g. Plutonium 237-238-240 half-life=24,181 yrs). I would also express concern over you & Mrs. Dada attending, but as you say, you are informed humans & can use your highly evolved sapien minds to analyze the risks.

ps, I am sooo looking fwd to the petroglyph rocks you mentioned from an earlier post! ~~ D.K.

d.k. - Not to worry about us taking Sammy to the land of hyper isotopes. Just as I wouldn't turn my child over to Bush and laugh about it, I sure as hell wouldn't put my dog in a hazardous situation without him being able to weigh the consequences, his options and make an informed decision for himself.

I'm working on the petroglyphs and, truthfully, I have difficulty getting a handle on those so it will likely disappoint. But they certainly intrigue.

It's one of those days where there's so much bouncing around out there, with Bush and congress, the odds of which will happen first--Gonzales' resignation or a successful provocation resulting in war with Iran (the latter of which has increased its odds against Alberto's departure) and the bullshit democrats feeling like they're doing something to halt the war (reference Dennis Kucinich's excellent rebuke of them on Democracy Now! this morning), that it's difficult to focus on any one thing for long before something else steals one's attention.

"democrataholic" -- does that mean you WERE addicted to a specific democrat, democrats in general, the democratic party, democratic ideals, or plain old democracy? Good luck in kicking your habit! I foresee many group support meetings, a third-party revival (where ARE those Whigs when you need them), a possible transfer of citizenship, or the final admonition in the Timothy Leary trifecta (drop out).

I could never be disappointed by Petroglyphs, Dada. They are inspiring and mysterious. I often wonder how many of them might be decifered as "Matthew loves Rhonda" or "Na-Dene Rules!" or some such. I have a secret plan to drag EK to view the 'glyphs at The Parawan Gap (google it) around summer solstice -- before the federally-owned access land surrounding it is sold off for mining/mineral rights as has been threatened. ~~ D.K.
