To be or not to be, that is the question

To senator (former democratic, now independent) Joe Lieberman: You're doing great. You have your former democrats trembling on one side of the aisle, republicans on the other side drooling, praying you switch gender or, er, sides.

Best thing for you to do is continue to straddle the middle of the aisle, keeping one ball on either side its dividing line. Look at the attention you get, the power you enjoy. You've found your perfect spot.

Remember, once you commit to one side of the aisle or other, you lose all that. You become just another fuckin' republican, or fuckin' democrat and god only knows, Americans are plenty disgusted with both of those.

And what happens to all those plumb committee chairs that the dems currently enjoy by dint of their majority? If Joe jumps & the senate becomes 50/50, do those chairs still stay dem based on majority at election time, or is there some weird power-sharing deal? Yeesh, what a nightmare guy he's turned out to be. And to think, I actually liked him when Gore selected him over Kerry and Edwards for his running mate in 2000. I feel used. I wonder how Gore feels about him today. ~~ D.K.
