Kumquat fruit
Who could forget secretary of state Colin Powell's message to the U.N. on February 6, 2003 where he presented his bogus and fraudulent evidence to the world of Saddam Hussein's weapons of mass destruction.
Well, former Federal Communications Commission chairman and son of fabulist Colin Powell, Michael Powell, commissioned a study while heading the FCC to show that consolidation of the media into fewer and fewer large megacorps did NOT harm local news reporting.
Sadly, the study's results confirmed exactly the opposite . As a result, Powell ordered that "every last piece" of the study be destroyed so as not to let the truth stand in the way of further media consolation.
It appears that just as with his father, son Michael believes it's expedient to disregard the truth if doing so will further the agenda he's been told to promote, be it killing independent stations, Iraqis or innocent GI's for lies. Once more the old adage holds true that, indeed, the fruit doesn't fall far from the tree.

how did he think, in this day & age, that "every last piece" could ever be destroyed? For a capitalist country, we sure have a lot of people trying to reduce competition. Oh, and Kumquat is the perfect word, sounding almost pornographic! D.K.
Colin did at least come out publicly today against Bush's insistence that torture ain't torture; too little, too late to rehabilitate his rep with me, but hopefully enough to keep Congress from rolling over and begging again.
I do think the next few months will be very interesting; if the elections go well for the Dems, look for Deadeye Dick to decide to resign the VP before the new Congress is sworn in. President Hastert, anybody?
YIKES!!!!!
yes, interesting news to say the least
i may not be popular in saying this
but i think that colin was set up..and he fell hard
yes, his fault for playing with the wrong kids but they were the only kids to play with at the time
as far as his son - there's no excuse -- except that his daddy picked the wrong place to raise him in - in politics
