Well, well, I keep thinking all these conspiracy theorists gave up the ghost, just shut the hell up and went back to sleep after the final congressional 9/11 investigation was completed. Oh sure, there were a few inconsistencies, maybe some stones left unturned, testimonies by our top two leaders who refused to take oaths to tell the truth* (or to testify alone lest their stories contradicted the other's, I guess). But there's not much to hang one's conspiracy hat on since congress wrapped it all up. And as we learned in the end, no one was really to blame. Save for Bill Clinton maybe.
I'm sure if any of the following were true, it would have been uncovered in congress' investigation. But it wasn't. So that's that. The final pretty official and all almost conclusive report. Book closed.
So why am I still hearing shit like this on the Stephanie Miller Show today? Okay, it's just an entertainment show peppered with a lot of laughs. Obviously none of this is true. But indulge me a moment--this was the fun part--what if, let's just pretend, this was true. Here's where I have fun. How many blind, intransigent supporters of Bush would take up arms to STILL defend his ass? Fifteen percent of Americans? Twenty? Twenty-five?
Have no doubt, there would be some. Maybe I don't really want to know how many that would be. It might be way too, too frightening to know. They'd be among the same ones who'd stake Jesus up to another cross if he returned to Earth. Fortunately, this conspiracy bullshit is just that, bullshit. But I did enjoy pondering how many among us are brain dead? (But I really don't want to know.)
Following is the transcript from Jim's Conspiracy Corner by Jim Ward on this morning's Stephanie Miller Show.
"Larry Silverstein, the New York property tycoon who purchased the World Trade Cecnter 6 months prior to 9/11 (2001), the first time in its 33 year history the complex had ever changed ownership. One of the first things he did was hire a new security company called Securicom run by Wert Walker III, cousin of Marvin Bush who was on the board of directors. And according to public records, not only did Securicom provide electronic security for the World Trade Center, it also covered Dulles International Airport and United Airlines, two key players in the 9/11 attacks.
"Ah, yeh, think about that...a small cabal owned the World Trade Center complex, controlled the electronic security, and also controlled the security for one of the airlines and the airport from which it originated AND also consider Larry Silverstein ah, got $7 billion worth of insurance on the World Trade Center ahm covered among other things, against terrorist attacks.
"Well, wait there's more...
"The World Trade Center was not the real estate plum that we're led to believe. In fact, it was well known by the city of New York that the World Trade Center was an asbestos bombshell that needed about $200 million in renovations and improvements. For years the Port Authority treated the building like an aging dinosaur trying on several occasions to get permits to demolish the building for liability reasons but being turned down because of the asbestos problem. Ah, in other words, the twin towers were condemned structures and how convenient that an unexpected terrorist attack demolished the buildings completely.
"Now Building 7, which of course fell down without being hit by an aircraft, collapsed eight hours later in its own footprint at freefall speed exacting the manner of the twin towers which is what happens when you do a controlled demolition. And how could that have happened? Well, Mr. Silverstein gave the world the answer when he slipped up during a PBS Television interview on 9/11/2002 when he said and I quote, 'I remember getting a call from the fire department commander telling me they were not sure they were going to be able to contain the fire and I said, We've had such terrible loss of life, maybe the smartest thing to do is pull it. And they made that decision to pull and we watched the building collapse.'
"As anyone knows anything about construction, 'pull' is common industry jargon for a controlled demolition. Ah, and what was in Building 7? Well, among other things, records for the SEC, the Securities and Exchange Commission! Records on Enron and Worldcom, and possibly on George W. Bush's Harkin Energy problems, maybe Neil Bush's Silverado problems. A lot of people could not have been terribly displeased about Building 7 crashing. One New York lawyer involved with the cases said, "Ongoing investigations at the New York SEC will be dramatically affected because so much of the work is paper intensive. Ah, this is a disaster for those cases!"
"Now a lot of people say well, when talking about controlled demolition, how could they have possibily found the time to, ah, plant the explosives or something like that? Well, seems to me Larry Silversteing had six months to do that in since he purchased the building and he controlled the security. Security controlled by Marvin Bush, among other people, and there are witnesses there in the building said that days before the collapse there was a power down--the weekend before the attack, in fact--unprecedented shut down of the top 50 floors of the south tower. The reson for the shutdown is given as 'recabling'....."(sounds of Stephanie Miller "Ahhing and applauding in the background...fade to silence).
*Dada note: Anytime American's "elect" an administration that holds themselves above the laws every other American is expected to abide by--like, say, taking a simple oath to tell the fuckin' truth in an appearance before a congressional panel or committee, they ought to have their asses impeached and, at the minimum, be thrown out of office. But in this case, Bush and Cheney were NOT elected to office, hence, they must be, indeed, above the law. This is evidenced by the fact they were able to get away with doing this, aided--of course--by apathetic and/or politically naive citizens either a.) too busy, or b.) too fuckin' apathetic to give a shit, or c.) both. Whatever the case, we're all paying now.

I'm with you, Dada -- and if you want to watch the godfather of all conspiracy nuts, tune into Alex Jones. I always found him extraordinarily entertaining, and with his scattergun approach, he'd even hit a target with the truth every once in a lonesome while...
...besides, he used to have a lovely habit of videotaping the activities of the Austin Police Department. Drove 'em hogwild. Beats the hell outta "Cops" hands down any day.
phew...the Consitution is still intact- now if the Grand Dicktator could read it- holy hell...and now tonight Keith is taking on the King tonight about " Thinking is Unacceptable"....Holy Crap....I think I am in love....Geesus tapdancing in a thong a JOURNALIST indeed confronting this Horrific Criminal "Administration"....
Dada- keep writing it matters- people like Keith read blogs...and are listening to us...We the People.
Harry Reid was on c-span today listing some of the grossly underqualified personnel sent to "manage" iraq post-mission-accomplished. seems the biggest & sometimes ONLY qualification was repub-loyalty. that's how we ended up sending a 24-yr old guy with no prior experience in finance or economics or even intl affairs to rebuild iraq's banking system & stock market. Can you imagine his learning curve? I bet my local deposit-slip-stamping teller could've accomplished more (but she's a dem). A person put in charge of local medical infrastructure (with about the same qualifications as michael brownie) said "I'm not here for Iraq, I'm here for George W. Bush". And Harry went on to point out case after nauseatingly similar case, accounting for BILLIONS of our tax dollars wasted by this insane boy-king. Who needs conspiracies when facts are so damning?
yeah, e43, keith is lovely (and tall, too)!!! D.K.
