I found a recent Reuters article amusing. It tells of Swiss researchers who discovered stimulating the left temporoparietal junction of a patient's brain left her with the "creepy feeling" she was being watched. The paranoia was so strong, they also found when the subject bent over and grabbed her knees she got the unpleasant feeling this shadowy figure was embracing her.
Well I thought this rather describes, more and more, a greater and greater portion of the population of a entire nation--the United States! I've tried to imagine what kind of electronic brain stimulation might be creating this rising paranoia in Americans. Could it come from watching too much C-Span? Bush press conferences? Fox, CNN, or Katie Couric fluff news?
I decided probably not. Most likely, Americans are not schizophrenic at all. We're just fine. That's because we are being watched and, as many suspect, whenever we bend over, being "embraced".

Creepy! After reading that, I've officially stopped bending over. It's bad enough to feel a shadowy eye, I don't need any more of those "bad embraces" than I already receive every year around April 15th. D.K.
D.K. Very funny! But I know what you're saying.
Every morning I awake feeling renewed. But it doesn't last. Often, it's a matter of just minutes before something tweaks my left temporoparietal junction, leaving me paranoid and angry at having been had once more.
couldn't you just stay in bed a little longer, til the anger passes? oh, that's right, it'd still be the same bleeping bleeped up country no matter how late in the day. i think my temporoparietal lobe has imploded or something cuz lately i'm just feeling shell-shocked. D.K.
Here's a spanish phrase you might like "No por mucho madrugar amanece mas temprano". It can be translated as "no matter how early you get up, the sun won't rise any quicker", or "dawn doesn't hurry even if you get up early". so ... that reminded me, I've been looking forward to your blogging about Taos or Milagro or Truchas soon, I know, I know, things happen as they will, just wondering? ~~ D.K.
D.K. Thanks for reminding me. The Truchas post is still lurking. Mostly written, it was ready to post. But there was one integral part that so illustrates "Truchas", I needed to add that. But try as I might, it wasn't fitting in. I think--in my mind anyway--I've solved that, although I haven't yet begun to apply the paint to that revised canvas. We shall see.
Hopefully, our impending trip to that area will prod me to complete it. Thanks for reminding me.
