Well, we're travelling westward through Arizona today. The Southwest has these great vistas. Often, you can see down the road to where you'll be in an hour or more. Sometimes this adds to the anticipation, sometimes not.
Maybe we'll get to see how well the new notebook computer works later today. ~Dada

welcome to my arizona..well not just mine but i consider it mine in this conversation - smile
we live for the afternoon moonsoons this time of year - be careful driving in them as you dont get caught in one - if you do, just pull over and wait it out - they are generally short lived!
oh and remember to carry lots of water in your trunk in case of break downs in the desert..i still do even bought i bought my new biodiesel jetta
Hi AZ!
Thanks for the welcome! It was here waiting for me in Blythe, CA. But we had a great trip thru your state. It's hot, but isn't it just about everywhere.....Gila Bend was 109 when we went thru there and the girl at the hotel desk said it's 114 here in Blythe.
Only took one or two pics, but I'm going to see if maybe there isn't one worth posting on the blog.
Oh, and thanks for the warning about water. But, do you wonder if global warming is warming us, what it's going to be like eventually? Not just here, but in many places.
But not native AZ, you seem to have really acclimated well to S/W summers.
Your Vdub biodiesel is way cool. While we're still hooked on petro in the new Civic, we sure do love the mileage it gets. Do you have many bio-diesel outlets in your area?
To her credit, Nona at Fish Wars tried to acquaint me with biodiesel. I'm still learning about it and am very impressed.
Thanks again for the welcome and the precautions!
Great new avatar! (Oh wait...that's a picture, isn't it?) Great picture!
wow - so many questions..
i would have to say the heat and fires are all a part of global warming...google 'global warming' and you will see many experts are finally able to come our of their preverbal closet and speak
about bio-diesel - there is one outlet in Tucson, where i live - but that is all i need to fill up every few weeks - the last we checked, we are getting upwards of 55 miles per gallon and not polluting a thing - i am voiding the warranty not using straight #2 but heck, it's worth it to me
thanks for the pic remark...it was taken at the Safford, AZ hot springs...i love to be in hot water!!
Wow! Impressive mileage. So, like, if you're low on "gas", you can just look around the house and ask yourself, "Am I gonna use this cooking oil to cook with, or...."
We pass a revolutionary bus yesterday in very eastern CA with Che Guevarra painted on the back (I THINK that's who it was supposed to be--see blog picture). ON it's sides were all kinds of painted messages and images of Chiapas, Cuba, etc.
But on the back, written up top was "powered by biodiesel" and I thought of you.
