Quote of the Day

Gee, I'm not exactly sure what's implied in the following quote. I'm thinking the author of it may be insinuating something bad about our very own government, Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, "Mushroom Cloud" Rice, etc.. If so, I sure wouldn't want to post something so derogatory against our nation's leaders who are only doing their best to secure the peace and safety of we Americans, their beloved subjects.

But surely that's not the author's intent. He's probably talking about other despots outside our shores, not our own. So here's today's....

Quote of the Day

The ethnic conflicts and insurgencies of our time...are not clashes between cultures or civilization, nor are they the result of ancient ethnic hatreds. They are manufactured wars, born out of the collapse of civil societies, perpetuated by fear, greed, and paranoia, and they are run by gangsters, who rise up from the bottom of their own societies and terrorize all, including those they purport to protect.
From "War is a Force that Gives us Meaning" by Chris Hedges
