Inadvertently caught a few minutes of Wolf Blitzer on CNN this weekend. In reviewing Bush's choice for latest supreme court justice, Harriet Miers, CNN chose no less an authority on the subject than Pat Robertson!
Okay, let's review Robertson's credentials that places him in the seat of "authority" that CNN and Blitzer would think anything Robertson had to say is worth listening to:
Robertson, a right-wing whack job, is the nut who described feminism as a "socialist, anti-family political movement that encourages women to leave their husbands, kill their children, practice witchcraft, destroy capitalism and become lesbians."
On gays, Robertson stated that the acceptance of homosexuality could cause hurricanes, earthquakes, tornadoes, terrorist bombs and "possibly a meteor."
After 9/11, Robertson went on record in accord with the Reverend Jerry Falwell saying those attacks were caused by "pagans, abortionists, feminists, gays, lesbians, the ACLU and the People for the American Way."
After outcrys by many enraged by his remarks, Robertson tried to back-peddle. This apparently is a common tactic by the whacko as demonstrated by first denial, then apology, after calling for the assassination of Venezuela's President Hugo Chavez.
The sad point being, CNN and Blitzer continue to validate this wing-nut by asking his opinion on public affairs as though anyone of rational mind gives a shit for anything Robertson thinks or spews.
