Here's a note from a local mother:
This morning I took my son to high school to clear his registration so he could start classes (he's 16). The school had signed him up for ROTC, although he never requested it. They very nicely changed it immediately when we objected, but I found it very peculiar that he was placed in ROTC without requesting it. I wonder if this is happening to other teens? ROTC is a major indoctrination program. The school counselor did not seem surprised that this had happened, although she could not explain it.
I thought this warranted a heads-up to parents. You know, young minds are malleable. Their pre-frontal lobes are the last part of the brain to develop. At age 16, that part of the brain has another 10-15 years of growth before reaching maturity!
If your kid "accidentally" ends up in ROTC and gets a couple of classes of brain wash...--er, I mean, military training under their belt before you become aware of it, it may be too late. Kids have a need to be a part of "the group", even if it's one that eventually ends up being IED'ed and shot at for Bush's bullshit lies.
With the military failing to meet recruitment goals, we have a government that's absolutely desperate for more bodies. Your child's will do just fine. He or she may have unknowingly been "volunteered".
So you may wanna check your kid's high school curriculum. It may save his/her life!
