Our Secretary of State, a Chevron oil tanker formerly known as Condoleezza Rice
Take for example our Secretary of State and former oil tanker, Condoleezza "mushroom cloud" Rice. After the London terrorist subway bombings, she extended her condolences by reminding us all "....these were just innocent people on their way to work." So there she was bemoaning the loss of innocent lives in London while untold thousands of innocent Iraqi lives seemed much less tragic and far more unnoteworthy.
Then there was her gad-about in the Middle East in June challenging ally nations such as the Saudis and Egyptians on democracy issues. Does she realize what they might become if Egyptians and Saudis actually took her admonishments to heart?
So today, it was apparently Secretary of Defense Don Rumsfeld's turn. We're all aware of the ramifications of our military actions in Iraq. Under his guidance, Rumsfeld's armed forces have compromised regional security by his anti-social and destabilizing behavior among the Iraqi populace, creating a hotbed for potential anti-American terrorist recruitment.
Well, during his visit to Peru, Secretary Rumsfeld amplified American hostility towards Hugo Chavez, the Venezuelan president by judging him guilty of "anti-social, destabilizing behavior" that is undermining the regional security of Latin America. Translated, what Rumsfeld means is if there's any upsetting of the Latin American dynamic to be done, it is NOT the job of Hugo Chavez to do. It will be done by the Bush administration.
One of two things is happening here. The administration is once more practicing its hyprocrisy and doesn't give a shit. Or, maybe it's again practicing its hyprocrisy and doesn't recognize it!
I'm not sure which is more frightening. They both scare the hell outta me!

I don't know if the description of Chavez is apt or not, but those adverbs provide an excellent description of Rumsfeld's behavior.
Good point rk. But in my 'run-in' with "Rumsfeld" in the high desert town of Taos, NM in April, I think he mentioned three. I'm not sure, but I think the third one, which really seemed to be Rummy's favorite, might have been the unknowns we don't know.
Like I say, I'm not sure that's it. But I do still remember vividly a banner hanging over the main street there in Taos with two inspiring words: "FIRE RUMSFELD"
