By a 3-1 vote, the county voted against the wall.

Despite losing you and Mr. BE to the Midwest this past weekend, I am getting a sense my border enlightenment is growing exponentially. It may have something to do with the new patio furniture, but whatever it is, I hope to blog something about it soon.Dadahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17257598218959429347noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13779951.post-11914306716973456682008-05-08T20:31:00.000-06:002008-05-08T20:31:00.000-06:00Dada, I don't have access to the data I need to do...Dada, I don't have access to the data I need to document this, but I heard earlier this week that your county board voted to go on record as opposed to the federal border wall/fence. More defiance!! No one knows if the world will be here in 500-yrs (I assume he meant HIS world, for surely the world will be here, just maybe not in the exact same form we see today). I bet the Egyptian Pharoahs used the same argument. No one knows if they personally will still be here in 100-yrs. I'm pretty sure *I* won't be here in a scant 50-yrs (assuming medical discoveries could even keep me alive that long). So with that argument, maybe I should stop with my own 5-yr plans?

BTW, since when do cities do a 500-yr flood plan? In Calif, we did 10-yr and 100-yr flood plans, revised constantly when a big one damaging some all-important real estate would throw their calculations off. I bet global warming is causing a huge revision of those plans as I type.D.K.
